Junior Graphic Designer

A.M. Design Group (Cleveland-west graphic design firm) is looking for a creative, well-organized, detail-oriented junior designer with at least two years of experience. The position calls for a motivated individual who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities include design, typesetting, layout and production in support of other designers. The best candidate will have demonstrated experience in print and digital design, and is familiar with the conventional print production process. Long term potential includes client engagement and complete project management. A four year design degree is required.

The firm provides design for corporate, marketing, advertising and public relations communications and serves clients that range from Fortune 200 giants to small businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support design team on a variety assignments
  • Design, layout, typesetting and production as needed on given assignments
  • Learn and master A.M. Design Group’s best practices
  • Pre-press file preparation, preflight, print specification and bidding, proofing, client approval, and pre-press proof and approval processes
  • Maintain workstation hardware and software

Skill & Educational Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • 4 year degree in design communications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of formal design principles, typography and color theory

Front End Developer

A.M. Design Group (Cleveland-west graphic design firm) is looking for an experienced (2 years or equivalent), well-organized, detail-oriented front end developer, who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities include building HTML and WordPress websites, as well as coding responsive HTML emails or building other custom coded solutions. The best candidate will have demonstrated experience programming for the web, including “responsive” programming, HTML/CSS/jQuery and experience in building WordPress websites with custom themes. Long term potential includes management of the firm’s web and interactive engagements. The front end web developer should be proficient in developing solutions based upon supplied Photoshop mock-ups and be comfortable taking creative direction from designers. A bachelor’s degree in IT/web technology along with strong project management is required. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Skill Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability in WordPress (build custom themes and integrate plugins), HTML/CSS, and jQuery.
  • Proficient in HTML5 and CSS 3 in tandem with JavaScript to create mobile-friendly websites or interactive presentations.
  • Familiarity with technical support to manage the company backups and navigating minor network, backup, or internal server issues as needed.
  • Familiarity working with hosting vendors and helping troubleshoot website issues when needed.
  • Ability to develop responsive design solutions.
  • Browser and mobile device testing experience.
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • MySQL, PHP, and JavaScript experience.
